A New Joint Call for Proposals Launched in the Framework of Armenian-Georgian Research Cooperation

The RA MESCS Higher Education and Science Committee (hereinafter Committee) and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (hereinafter Foundation) announce a new international Call for Proposals «HESC RA - SRNSFG» for the support of joint research projects conducted by the Georgian and Armenian research groups. 

The Call is organized under the provisions of the Programme on “Cooperation in Science and Technologies” signed by the Armenian and Georgian counterparts on 7 June 2023.

The purpose of the Call is to support international cooperation and the realization of joint 24-month research projects in the following fields:

- "Natural Sciences,"

- "Engineering and Technology,"

- "Medical Sciences,"

- "Agricultural Sciences," and

- "Social Sciences and Humanities" (in particular, Armenian and Georgian Studies).

          Project proposals shall be submitted by Armenian and Georgian research groups to the Committee and Foundation, respectively.

Applicants from both parties shall previously agree with each other upon the content of the submitted project, which may vary depending on the problems to be solved by each of the parties, but the titles of the submitted projects must be the same.

The submitted Project shall be ambitious, competitive, promising, and feasible.

The PI (Principal Investigator) of the Group can be a person born after January 1, 1954, who holds a scientific degree and has the required publications by invitation. At least two Group Members must be born after January 1, 1989, and can be at least third-year undergraduate students.

During the entire implementation of the Project, the Group Members must reside in the Republic of Armenia, either as citizens or residents.

By the end of the project, the members of the Armenian group should have at least one paper in an ISD-indexed journal co-authored with a member(s) of the Georgian group.

The PI off the Armenian group must submit applications for participation through the Committee's online application and reporting system at https://grants.hesc.am.

The online application deadline is October 15, 2024. Funding is expected to start in January 2025.
