Call for Scientific Projects in Social Sciences, Armenian Studies, and Humanities – 2024
The Higher Education and Science Committee announces the Call for Scientific Projects in Social Sciences, Armenian Studies, and Humanities – 2024.
The Call for Proposals aims to:
- support competitive research in the fields of Social Sciences, Armenian Studies, and Humanities;
- strengthen the impact of research on socioeconomic development;
- foster international cooperation and engage the scientific community of the Diaspora, as well as foreign researchers;
- ensure the high status of Armenian Studies as a discipline;
- contribute to training young personnel in Social Sciences, Armenian Studies, and Humanities.
Under the current Call, the 36-month projects will be implemented by research groups of 2-4 members. Foreign citizens who are Armenian residents and are ready to live in Armenia during the whole implementation of the Project can also apply for the Call.
The person acting as the Head of the Group must be under 70 years of age, hold a scientific degree and be an author of one Monograph or at least 2 ISD-indexed scientific publications in the last five years. If the Head of the Group is involved in any project carried out by a research organization within the framework of basic funding for scientific and technical activities from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, the application shall be submitted on behalf of the respective organization.
At least two group members must be under 35 years of age.
The Group shall have a Foreign Partner (Collaborator) who must hold a scientific degree and be engaged in research activities in a foreign research organization within a specialty related to the Project. The Collaborator’s Hirsch index (h-index) must be at least 3, according to the Scopus database, or must have at least 8 scientific publications or 2 monographs in the relevant field within the last 5 years. The Collaborator is not considered a member of the Group, and no remuneration is envisaged. During the implementation of the Project (36 months), the Collaborator must stay in Armenia for at least 15 days and host the Group Members in his scientific organization for at least 15 days.
As a result of the implementation of the Project, Group Members must have at least 4 research-related publications published in periodicals listed in the portal SCImago Journal Rank Indicator, at least two of which must have an equivalent of at least Q2 SJR (SCImago Journal Rank Indicator), or 1 monograph.
The maximum amount of funding for a three-year project can be AMD: 26,1, 20,7, and 15,3 million for Research Groups consisting of 4, 3, and 2 members, respectively. The average monthly salary of the Group Members amounts to AMD 150,000.
The Call for Proposals is announced for the second time. As a result of the first Call (2020), 17 projects have received funding.
The Higher Education and Science Committee will host an informational meeting (InfoDay) on December 15.
