Call for Proposals for Innovative and Prospective Directions

The Higher Education and Science Committee announces the call for proposals for the "Research Projects in Prospective Directions 2024" program. The program aims to support the implementation of scientific research projects with competitive and high socio-economic impact and the development of modern new technologies in the most important and innovative directions of scientific and technical activities in the Republic of Armenia.

Research Groups consisting of 3-5 members can participate in the Call by submitting projects with a duration of 36 months in the following fields:

- Artificial Intelligence and Data Science;
- Quantum Technologies;
- Robotics;
- Biotechnology and Human Enhancement;
- Material Science;
- Green Deal.

The Head of the Group can be a person born after January 1, 1953, who holds a scientific degree and has the required publications by invitation. At least two Group Members must be born after January 1, 1988, and can be at least third-year undergraduate students.

The Group must also have a Foreign Partner with a scientific degree and at least a 15 h-index, working in a relevant speciality abroad. The partner must visit Armenia for at least 15 days during the project's implementation and host Group Members at their scientific organization for an equal amount of time.

If the Head of the Group is involved in any program funded by the state budget for scientific and technical activities in Armenia, the application must be submitted from that organization.

The maximum funding amount for 36 months is up to 54, 45, and 36 million drams for research groups consisting of 5, 4, and 3 members, respectively. The average monthly salary for the group's work has been set at up to 250 thousand drams.

An informational meeting (Info Day) will be organized on December 14 at the Higher Education and Science Committee (22 Orbeli Brothers) to answer questions about the competition.

Applications to participate in the competition must be submitted through the online system at grants.hesc.am by January 5, 2024.

The deadline for submitting paper versions of documents to the Committee is January 12, 2024.
