Nikol Pashinyan and Ardem Patapoutian discuss issues related to the development of the science sector
In Davos, within the framework of the World Economic Forum, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with the renowned Armenian scientist, molecular biologist and neuroscientist Ardem Patapoutian, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2021.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the exceptional contribution and scientific achievements of Mr. Patapoutian in the field of global science, emphasizing that the development of science and education is one of the strategic priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The Prime Minister noted that it is important to involve the potential of our compatriots in the development of science and added that the Government is continuously increasing funding for the science sector to promote the implementation of innovative ideas and programs.
Ardem Patapoutian, in turn, noted that during his visit to Armenia, he visited various technology companies and got acquainted with the potential in the science sector. He expressed willingness to support the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the implementation of programs aimed at the development of science and innovation.
