Call for Proposals for the “Promoting the Efficiency of Scientific Research – 2025” Program
The Higher Education and Science Committee announces the Call for Proposals for the "Promoting the Efficiency of Scientific Research – 2025" Grant Program, which is based on the previously established program for scientific projects within the framework of contractual (thematic) funding of scientific and technical activities.
The Program encompasses all fields of scientific and technical research.
The aim of the Program is to:
- improve the quality of scientific research;
- foster the global outreach of scientific research results;
- increase the involvement of young researchers and graduate students in scientific research;
- contribute to the establishment of new research groups and the strengthening of the existing ones, as well as involve the scientific potential of the diaspora and foreign researchers.
The Call is open to scientific groups of 3-5 members with the involvement of a Foreign Partner. The duration of the presented projects shall be 36 months.
The Principal Investigator (PI) shall be born after January 1, 1954, and hold a scientific degree.
If the PI is involved in any program within the framework of baseline funding for scientific and technical activities from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, the application must be submitted by any organization implementing a baseline funding program.
The Group Members can be both the RA citizens and foreign citizens. However, they must reside in the Republic of Armenia during the whole implementation of the Project.
At least 2 Group Members must have been born after January 1, 1989. Undergraduate students in their 3rd year or above are eligible.
The Foreign Partner involved in the Group shall hold a scientific degree and be currently engaged in research at a scientific organization abroad in a specialty related to the Project, for which remuneration is not provided.
Additionally, either the Foreign Partner or Group Members must spend at least 20 total days in the PI's or Foreign Partner's organization during the entire project implementation period.
As for the Foreign Partner's Hirsch index (H-index):
- in the Fields 1-5 (Annex N 2.1) – at least 10 according to Scopus Scientific Database (https://www.scopus.com/freelookup/form/author.uri);
- in the Field 6 (Annex N 2.1) – at least 3 (Scopus); alternatively, the Foreign Partner may have at least 4 ISD-indexed publications or 1 Monograph in the given field.
The Foreign Partner provides the PI with a professional curriculum vitae (CV) and a Confirmation Letter, certifying that he/she is familiar with the contents of the Project and his/her responsibilities, agrees to participate in research and planned joint scientific experiments, discussions, seminars, and other activities. The Foreign Partner shall send the aforementioned documents at grants@hesc.am.
The Foreign Partner may not enter more than 2 applications for the Call.
The application must be submitted through the online system available at grants.hesc.am.
The application deadline is May 17, 2024, at 18:00 (Yerevan time). The deadline for paper-based documents to be submitted to the Committee is May 24, 2024.
The financing of the selected projects will start in January 2025.
