The conclusion of the TAIEX Expert Mission and opportunities for future cooperation in capacity building
Today marked the conclusion of the TAIEX Expert Mission's visit to the Higher Education and Science Committee.
During the second day of the Mission's visit, which took place on November 27-29, Mr. Sargis Hayotsyan, Chairman of the Committee, provided an overview of the current state and challenges in Armenia's higher education and science sectors, as well as the programs aimed at their future development. European experts shared their observations, highlighting that Armenia's approaches align with global trends.
The final day was dedicated to exploring strategies for leadership and fostering cooperation.
The morning sessions focused on effective leadership strategies for administering the education and research system and ensuring its further advancement:
• Ms. Dijana Mandić dedicated her presentation to comparing Armenia's action plan with Croatia's best practices in education, highlighting mechanisms such as national qualifications frameworks and performance-based accreditation standards.
• Mr. Kristian Vlahoviček examined various institutional approaches to maintaining and improving systems, as well as the costs and risks associated with each.
• Ms. Ana Belščak-Cvitanović discussed broader strategies for implementing reforms in general and in the education and research sectors in particular, emphasizing the importance of leadership charisma, social skills, and emotional intelligence.
In the afternoon, the Mission concluded a roundtable discussion on further cooperation. Participants reviewed the outcomes of the Mission, shared final remarks, and reaffirmed their commitment to long-term collaboration, emphasizing the alignment of Armenia's reforms with EU best practices.
This productive exchange strengthened Armenia's capacity to navigate the challenges of administering its education and research system and advancing its development. Furthermore, the parties agreed to deepen collaboration in capacity-building initiatives and to explore the prospects of launching future bilateral Armenian-Croatian educational and research programs.
