The 3rd Session of the Joint Armenian-Belarusian Commission on Science and Technology Cooperation was held

On 28 November 2018, Samvel Haroutiunian, Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, participated in the 3rd session of the Joint Armenian-Belarusian Commission on Science and Technology Cooperation which took place in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus.
During the meeting Samvel Haroutiunian introduced the current situation of the science sector in Armenia, the priorities for the Republic of Armenia, the results in the field of scientific expertise. Introducing the recent political changes in RA Chairman Haroutiunian mentioned that the Government of the Republic of Armenia has a unique approach towards the development of the science sector, which in its turn will promote the expansion of the scientific-technical and innovative cooperation.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the 4 projects which were financed within the frames of the Joint Call organized by Science Committee of the RA Ministry of Education and Science and State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus. 17 applications had been submitted. The members of the Commission stated the high quality of the applications and increase of the level of cooperation between the scientific organizations of the two countries.
The opportunity of preparing joint projects within the scope of “Horizon 2020” was also discussed.
The next meeting of the Commission will be held in Yerevan.
