The RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Higher Education and Science Committee

On October 4, State Committee of Science and Thomson Reuters  Inc. signed a three-year Agreement on Cooperation, which aims to provide Armenian scientific organizations with free access to the Web of Knowledge resources (http://webofknowledge.com).

With the support of the RA MES State Committee of Science the RA NAS Institute for Ecological Noosphere Studies and ,,Golos Armenii” have initiated the publication of a new popular science supplement Most.

The Governing Board of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) held its 55^th meeting in Moscow. Тhe Republic of Armenia participated in the meeting as the rotating CIS Board member.

Resources from Thomson Reuter Web of Knowledge system have been available for Armenian scientific community since 22 February 2012. According to the preliminary agreement the resources were to be available free of charge until 22 May 2012,  afterwards the parties were to come to an agreement on the terms of cooperation.

State Committee of Science organized the review of the repots for the projects recommended for funding within the frames of 2011 – 2012 Call for topic-based funding. Reports and review results were presented to the specialized expertise committees.

On May 24, the RA Government passed the Resolution on Establishing Fund CANDLE “Institute of Synchrotron Investigations”. The establishment of the Fund will make it possible to raise extra funds for promoting the activities carried out by the Center.

Within the frames of CNRS – SCS Joint Call 2011, 6  projects have been recommended for funding.
